My name is Alice and I live in San Diego. I was initially tentative on coaching for my weight loss, but ultimately decided a coach might really help me. And what a difference it made! I had been struggling with losing my last 15 lbs. (of 45lbs overall) for almost 2 years. As it turned out, what I needed was accountability, and just knowing that someone was there who cared that I was meeting my goals. Robynn was a great help in so many ways. I was suddenly even more motivated and determined to lose that weight.
We spoke weekly about my goals and various methods I might try to employ to meet them, such as getting better sleep, reducing my stressors, journaling, work-outs, supplements, cutting out alcohol and carbs, and finally long-term fasting. Something I never thought I’d be successful at on my own. But, with Robynn’s coaching, became one of the significant keys to my success. She really helped me drill down on what was going on in all these areas, and come up with ideas on fixing my pitfalls. I’m very happy to say that these days, I’ve not only met my weight goal (and have so far been able to keep it there), but I’m sleeping way better, have less stress, I'm eating better overall and actually feel stronger than I’ve felt in my entire life. My path to wellness with Robynn took me through an effective but unexpected route. After talking to her about my eating habits and sleep during the shelter-in-place period of 2020, she made a suggestion that was obvious but had eluded me.
Assumptions I made about the difficulty of getting a new refrigerator and the disappointment I might experience if it didn't work out led me to make choices that were less healthy for me. Before coaching I was a part of an accountability group and it was helpful to keep me accountable for completing daily to weekly tasks. However, after coaching I found it was very helpful to have discussions with a coach over matters I found myself stuck on about things I wanted to complete but I did not know how to and with having someone to talk to about these things and then them offering solutions as well as check in to see how I was doing it helped me to know I had someone that was cheering me on front the sidelines per say. That was helpful for me!
During one of our sessions, my Coach Robynn recommended the book Grain Brain and I bought it! I was convinced that carbs, and in essence brain, are one of the factors of cause for my weariness and sleepiness. I have had sleep issues for a long time, but wasn't aware of it until I met Robynn. I've been dealing with my health and weight for a long time and I was good about getting on track and getting off track. I've had therapists and coaching calls from my insurance but nothing compared to having a health coach like Robynn! She really cares and wants you to succeed. I liked having someone that held me accountable and provided solutions when needed. My biggest issue was cheating and beating myself up to the point of never getting back on track. To solve this she taught me constructive thinking habits, holding myself accountable but also being kind to me.

I always look forward to my sessions with Robynn. She is warm, compassionate and knowledgeable on a vast number of health and self-care topics. Her coaching style is extremely flexible and each session is tailored to my specific needs. I observed real measurable results even after a few sessions because we set reasonable goals and clear strategies to meet them. Some of these strategies include a specific daily workout we co-created, better sleep hygiene, and even identifying a local market to avoid because it often led to poor choices. Keeping a checklist right next to my workout station was really helpful. She also got through an important and stressful weeklong event in optimal health. Having someone to check in with regularly and get positive feedback helped me stay accountable and feel supported. I highly recommend Robynn and her wellness coaching service.
